Kite-Surfing down in Jupiter Fl. There are about 14 guys at a time out in the water. I was not able to get alot of shots because I hardly had my camera with me but I ran out after dinner and snapped this one really quick. (I had to come home with something to post right?) Eventhough, you can’t see his Kite in the photo it looks pretty cool, being suspended in air by nothing. If the sun had not gone down so quicly the shot would have turned out much better. Next time….

Brian Robinson can do one of the longest floaters I have ever seen. He was up there for over 4 seconds. I know because my camera shoots at 10 frames a second and I fired off 43.

There is this great sense of belonging at the inlet. When it is not firing off and blowing 7 bells of shit out of everything it is a very family oriented place. There are little kids running around and playing in the water and a ton of old vintage boards that were obviously passed down from father to son. You’ll see 12 year old kids riding some antique & the old guys on the outer break, away from the crowd. Don’t get me wrong you have an equal number if not more brand new boards. But it is good to see a sprinkling of character.

I’m not quite sure of the setting I used to take this picture (it was awhile ago). It was taken later in the day when you get that nice golden side light as the sun is going down. The waves were getting small and weak and it was high-tide just good enough for a good view. This photo is titled “Summer Days End” and can be purchased on my site Caught Outside Photography. I believe I bought that board that same year. It is a Hobie Circa ‘71 great maneuverability and easy to catch those fast waves; kind of a pain to keep it on the face though when it’s 5+.
