We had some favorable surf yesterday. These shots were taken around 5pm at .15 of a second. They are Panned and hand held. Not bad for a first attempt.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III (review)
I was up in Westborough and Boston MA over Halloween weekend. While I was there I took some photos of my friend’s family and their dogs Ivy and Riley. The sky was overcast and the weather was very windy; which made it a challenge. Here are a few of my favorites. I used both; the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS UMS (review) and Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM (review)

Canon EOS 1D Mark III (review), Canon 100mm Macro UMS (review) ISO 400, 100mm, f/7.1, 1/15
There were two nor’easters this weekend so needless to say I did not take any photos outside. I can’t wait to see how our beach is reshaped after the storm. I visited my parents on Saturday and we cooked some Mexican. Who doesn’t like Mexican, right? This spread looked colorful so I took it out onto the porch where there was some nice soft light.

Another one of my favorite views in Manasquan. When the light is low the reeds shine gold with color.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III (review), Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM (review) ISO 200; 16mm; f/3.5; sec .125
This shot was taken up in Maine. I spent about 45 minutes trying to get this shot right; while being eaten alive my mosquitoes. I wanted to capture a long exposure of the water so that is would give the impression of fog or mist over the water. The sun had already dropped down over the horizon about 25 minutes before I snapped this shot but the long exposure enabled the camera to absorb the available light.
